Hello from Nuremberg

Hello everyone,
I already had a nice chat with Spigot, Guido and Digby about joining FTC, but I would like to officially introduce myself on this forum as well.
My nickname is Storyteller and I have been a virtual pilot since the late 1980s. I got my hands on IL-2 when it first came out in 2001, but it took me about 8 years to fly my first mission on an MP server. After a very uneventful patrol along the front lines, I was shot down in just 2 seconds without even seeing my attacker...
After that I joined the German IL-2 squadron ZG 26 and became a Schwarmführer. In 2012 I took a long break from flying because of a game called MechWarrior: Online. In 2021 I returned to IL-2 and joined ACG. About half a year later I became Staffelkapitän of 4./JG 26 (later renamed to 7./JG 26) and held this position until last Sunday. Due to some internal differences I decided to leave ACG and try my luck with FTC. Some pilots of my former Staffel already announced that they will be joining me.
I see myself as a team player who likes to develop myself and others. I am not a great dogfighter, so I take a tactical approach to aerial combat. If earthmoving is required, I am happy to do that, whether as a Jabo or as a bomber pilot. My passion, however, is flying fighters in a squad.
Besides virtual flying, I play tabletop games and do some model building. Military history, especially around the Second World War, is a great passion of mine.
With that out of the way I am looking forward to fly with you.
Cheers,
Storyteller
